CONTRA EL MAR received Best Student Narrative Short from the RiverRun International Film Festival as well as an Honorable Mention for the Vanderbilt Golden Opportunity Award from the Nashville Film Festival! Huge thanks to both RiverRun and Nashville Film Fests!

CONTRA EL MAR Wins LACMA Prize

CONTRA EL MAR took home the Art of Film Award presented by LACMA Muse at Saturday's Young Directors Night.

Director Richard Parkin was on hand to receive the award, as well as participate in an onstage interview with the evening's fellow filmmakers.

CONTRA EL MAR Selected for LACMA's Young Directors Night

Now in its eleventh year, Young Directors Night highlights the emerging talent of the Los Angeles film community. A celebration of film and the art of cinema, the showcase features seven short films screened in the unique setting of an art museum.

The evening of films will take place at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's renowned Bing Theater on Saturday, March 10 at 7:30 pm, followed by a reception at 5900 Wilshire Boulevard. Tickets are $30 and are available for online purchase here.

CONTRA EL MAR screens in competition at the Next Reel International Film Festival

The Next Reel International Film Festival is a biennial event organized by New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. It is the oldest international student film festival of its kind organized in the United States. 

The festival is scheduled to take place from February 5 – 10, 2012 and will host young filmmakers from 34 coveted film schools in 19 countries.
